Panay, Bukidnon – The Tribal Hall of the Panay Bukidnon-Ati Tribe Watchman Council of Elders proudly hosted a two-day Diplomatic Training Course seminar and workshop on February 26-27, 2025. The event gathered 62 Indigenous Peoples (IPs) representatives from various communities, providing them with an invaluable opportunity to learn about the intricacies of Customary International Humanitarian Law (CIHL) and the Indigenous Peoples Rights Act (IPRA) Law.
The seminar aimed to address key issues related to the protection of IP rights, raise awareness of international humanitarian standards, and empower Indigenous communities with the necessary knowledge to advocate for their rights both locally and globally.
Participants engaged in comprehensive discussions, shared insights, and explored practical approaches to addressing challenges faced by Indigenous peoples. The session on IPRA Law provided a deeper understanding of the legal frameworks that safeguard the rights and welfare of Indigenous peoples in the Philippines.
